Who we are
Skip Technology ("we") provides operations software for waste and skip-hire businesses at skiptechnology.co.uk and admin.skiptechnology.co.uk. Contact: hello@skiptechnology.co.uk.
What we collect
- Account data — name, email, company, role, login credentials (passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication).
- Operational data you enter — customers, jobs, sites, drivers, vehicles, skips, invoices, waste transfer notes and Defra waste receipts. You are the data controller for this data; we process it on your instructions.
- Billing data — handled by Stripe; we store only subscription status and Stripe identifiers, never card numbers.
- Website enquiries — name, email, company, phone and message submitted via the demo form.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and usage logs needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide, secure and support the service.
- To bill you and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (invites, password resets, receipts) via Resend.
- To submit waste-movement data to Defra's Digital Waste Tracking Service where you choose to use that feature.
- To respond to enquiries.
We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored in Google Cloud / Firebase in the europe-west2 (London) region, encrypted at rest and in transit, and logically isolated per company. Sub-processors: Google Cloud (hosting, database, auth), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Defra (waste tracking, where enabled).
Retention
Account and operational data is kept while your subscription is active and for 90 days afterwards, then deleted unless you ask us to delete it sooner or law requires longer retention (e.g. waste transfer notes must be kept for 2 years; hazardous consignment notes for 3 years — you remain responsible for exporting records you must retain).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and object to or restrict processing. Email hello@skiptechnology.co.uk. You may complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage for authentication and session state. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
